Rock-am-Ring over and RCN in a swimlane! At the Rock-am-Ring weekend the Eifel region showed itself from it's best side: Continuous rain and cosy 3 degrees (+) is even here a bit unusual for June. But also the RCN race this Saturday was more a swimming contest than a race because of very heavy showers. To choose the right tyres became the hardest task before race because the rain stopped shortly before the start and than even the sun came out. Most teams changed back to slicks and were suprised by a sudden and very heavy shower. On certain parts of the track the water was staying a few centimeters high. Most teams had to come back into the pits and change to rain tyres. We have gambled on rain tyres from the beginning and didn't need a tyre change during the race. So we were able to save precious time in this turbulent race situation. Than we changed to slick tyres during the regular pitstop, changed drivers and were again able to finish first in class. The positive RCN season helps a little bit to forget our bad luck at the 24h race. In Juli we will again see the Formula 1 and the Truck GP here at the Nurburgring!
